4 Reasons to Rejoice...Right Now!

When things in life are going well, it's easy to be joyous. But what about when life gets really hard? The Bible says we are to rejoice always, not just when we feel like it. But I'm going to be honest with you: I'm going through a difficult time right now, and sometimes I can't seem to find anything to rejoice about. Do you ever feel that way?
A few days ago, I started thinking about some things that we can ALL rejoice in, no matter how difficult and painful life is at the moment. I hope these truths will encourage you and help you see that there are reasons to rejoice... always!

1. You Are Going to Heaven

I can't think of a better reason to rejoice! Someday, when we die, we get to go to Heaven to be with Jesus forever and ever! All we have to do is believe in Him and confess that He is our Lord and Savior:
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16
Jesus is preparing a place for us in heaven. And when we die, He will come get us and take us to our real, eternal home:
"My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am." John 14:2-3
Someday, our broken, mortal bodies will die, and we will have new and glorious bodies in heaven that will last forever:
"But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables Him to bring everything under His control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like His glorious body." Philippians 3:20-21

2. God Wants to Be Your Best Friend

You get to have a personal relationship with God, the all-powerful, all-knowing, loving Creator of the universe! You can talk to Him whenever you want. And He loves to spend time with you. Listen to what Jesus says:
"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me." Revelation 3:20
God wants you to come to Him with all your worries. He alone has the answers:
"Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know." Jeremiah 33:3
He wants so badly to hear from you:
"Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you." Jeremiah 29:12

3. God is on Your Side

Isn't it comforting to know that the God who created the world is on your side? He is your Protector, Defender, Shield, Provider. He is fighting for you. You don't have to worry, He is in charge:
"The Lord your God, who is going before you, will fight for you, as He did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes..." Deuteronomy 1:30
"The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still." Exodus 14:14
Even when it seems like you're up against an impossible situation, know that God is handling everything:
"Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God's." 2 Chronicles 20:15
And He is taking care of your future:
"'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

4. Our Lord is Alive

Jesus is our Risen King! He is alive today, and He lives in you. Death could not hold Him. 2000 years ago, when some women went to His tomb to visit Him, they found it empty. An angel told them that Jesus had risen from the dead:
"He is not here; He has risen, just as He said." Matthew 28:6
And if you went to visit His tomb today, you would still find it empty:
"But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep." 1 Corinthians 15:20
Jesus conquered death and the grave! Listen to His words:
"Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades." Revelation 1:17-18
I hope these verses given you some reasons to rejoice. When you're feeling down, what helps you rejoice? Please share with us in the Comments. We're a family! Let's help and encourage one another. I pray that your days will be filled with joy and peace no matter what life brings your way.
